Gary Edwards, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon / Sports Medicine

Gary received a BS in Biology at Brigham Young University, then graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago Medical School. He completed a 5-year orthopedic surgery residency at UIC, where he was honored for his Superior Patient Care. Gary subsequently trained as a Sports Medicine Fellow with Case Western, working as an assistant team physician for the Cleveland Browns. At Case Western, he trained under Dr. Michael Salata, one of the foremost hip preservation surgeons in the country.

Gary has been with Summit Brain, Spine, and Orthopedics for 3 years and is a leader in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of doctors in providing the best care for patients. His specialties include sports medicine, hip preservation, shoulder surgery, tendon repair and ACL reconstruction . His work with the Browns gave him a wealth of information about serious sports injuries, and the best strategies for preventing and treating them.

Gary and his wife, Jacqueline, live in Utah Valley, and enjoy hiking, biking, and spending time with family.
